Advanced Aerospace Solutions LLC (“AdvAero”) was NASA’s 2014 Agency-wide Small Business Subcontractor of the Year. Our successes in rapid-prototyping flight-test and certification services human factors and systems engineering were instrumental to the development of the Electronic Flight Bag industry and earned our founders a coveted Aviation Week Laureate for “…helping the transition from paper in the cockpit to a digital flight deck ” as well as the Canadian American Business Achievement Award for “a joint enterprise demonstrating: strong business growth remarkable innovation noteworthy contributions to the local communities and the capacity to provide the partners with a global advantage.” AdvAero led the flight-test program for NASA’s Traffic Aware Strategic Aircrew Requests (TASAR) program. AdvAero tasks included the architecting and design of the highly specialized test-vehicle modifications including the design and certification of a completely new cockpit for AdvAero’s advanced P180 research aircraft. This was followed by the conduct of over one hundred complex research flights in the busy Northeast airspace corridor. The Fall 2015 NASA SB newsletter stated “AdvAero performed this task professionally proactively thoroughly and without misstep from day one...” AdvAero has in-house capability to engineer design and certify specialized control and display systems for advance human factors flight test projects with manned unmanned and optionally-piloted vehicles. Uniquely for a company of its size AdvAero designs and produces its own flight-test instrumentation and has completed more than fifty Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) certification programs. AdvAero software experts originated and certified (to RTCA DO-178B/C Level C) the software technology that underlies the electronic rendering of all Jeppesen terminal approach charts. Our team has participated in industry committees such as RTCA Working Groups and has even been delegated to perform test planning and audits for critical autopilot software by government agencies operating U.S. military aircraft. The AdvAero team has conducted several major human factors programs including the development of the Human Factors Systems Requirements Standard for NASA’s Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiments (AGATE) program and the conduct of extensive Synthetic Vision System flight trials under the SATS program. AdvAero continues to produce leading-edge advances in human interface design such as its Dynamic Non-Linear Display (DNLD) technology which has been awarded worldwide patents. AdvAero’s greatest asset is its access to an extraordinary team of test pilots engineers and scientists with diverse backgrounds in aerospace operations human factors and systems engineering who have made all of the previously listed achievements possible.Phone
